Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik onTuesday ordered the top bureaucrats in the civil secretariat to clear allcorruption cases in the state and a deadline of 10 days has been set to do so.The order has come just a week after Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited theValley and took stock of the situation and had a long discussion with thegovernor.

In a circular issued by the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir,he has asked his top officials to strictly follow the orders and speedilydispose of all the corruption files within 10 days. He has also asserted in thecircular that acting against corruption in the state is important to ensuregood governance to the people of the state.

Earlier this month, Amit Shah made his first visit to Jammu andKashmir as the Union Home Minister and reviewed the security situation in thestate. According to reports, Shah was of the belief that in order to curbrampant terror activities in the state, the administration needs to crackdownagainst the widespread corruption there. It is being understood that afterkeeping in mind the conversation he had with Amit Shah, J&K Governor hasissued the new directions to bureaucrats. Reportedly, investigations havealready been launched against some bureaucrats in the state who have been accusedof corruption.
